The Aims and Objectives of the Melbourne Tramcar Preservation Association are:

• To preserve and restore selected examples of Melbourne trams.

• To preserve and display various models of “W” class trams that show the evolution in body design and equipment that occurred over the decades.

• To encourage an awareness of the coachwork methods used in the construction of these wooden bodied tramcars, with the viewing of such trams under overhaul by visitors to the site. In these days when modern vehicles are of metal and fibreglass construction, the retention of skills associated with coachwork restoration and rebuilding are one of the main functions of our group.
